As a school and a community we've accomplished a great deal over
the past 100 years. We at Stevens have endeavored to bring a solid social,
emotional and educational foundation to the children who have come through
our doors. A great deal of our efforts have been focused on the areas of
excellence in education, equity and enrichment.

Message from the Principal
Welcome to Stevens Elementary!
As principal at Stevens, I am
honored to welcome you to our school.
As you peruse this web site, you will learn about our wonderful mix of kids,
teachers and programs. We serve
approximately 345 students in a newly renovated, historical landmark building.
Our children represent approximately 30 different cultures that result in a very
rich multicultural setting. Our
vision is one of high expectations and is symbolized by the Stevens All-Star
Pledge. Students recite this pledge
every morning in their classrooms and at all-school events:

Share my skills and talents with others.
We have special programs to support student
achievement including: ELL, Special Education, after school tutoring, Learning
Assistance Program, and others. We
seek to challenge our more capable learners through the use of technology,
project oriented education, and through an after school enrichment program, and
continue to grow our own practice through ongoing professional learning.
Perhaps our greatest asset is the
wonderful support we receive from our parents and the community.
This web site was created and is maintained by a host of volunteers, all parents
of our kids. This is but one
example of parent involvement and there are many!
Our PTA funds vocal and instrumental music programs, historian and mathematician
in residence programs, 5th grade outdoor education, technology, the
arts, and much, much more. Our
staff, students and parents help to make Stevens Elementary the outstanding
school that it is!!!!
