About Me:
As the resource room teacher at
Stevens Elementary, I provide specialized instruction in reading, written
expression and in math to students who have IEP's (Individual
Education Plans) .
A little extra:
My background is originally
in art. I received a degree in Fine Arts and went on to receive my
Masters Degree in Art Therapy and Art Education from the University of New
Mexico. I’ve always loved Seattle
and moved here after graduation. After
moving here, I soon found out that not too many people knew what art
therapy was. I went on and
became certified to be a Special Education teacher.
I still love art, especially photography and printmaking, but I get great
fulfillment in helping children and love being a resource room teacher. It's
truly a fulfilling career!
I’ve been teaching Special Education students at Stevens for a number of years
now. I love our school and the
strong community that supports us.
