Community's Alive in Room 105!

Creating a sense of community in the classroom is of utmost importance to me as a teacher. Children need to feel safe, comfortable, and important in our learning community, in order to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.  Furthermore, I want children to feel a strong connection between who they are in their family, their homes, their lives outside of school, and who they are in school.  While learning to read, write, and think mathematically, students are able to express who they are, expand their understanding of themselves, and become more powerful in their comprehension of and interactions with the world.
